I’ve received my new monitor today, a Dell 2407WFP (rev. A04) 24″ widescreen TFT panel. It replaces my Dell 2007WFP (pretty similar model, but only 20″), which goes to a friend of mine.
Some specs:
- Diagonal: 24 inches
- Resolution: 1920×1200
- Aspect ratio: 16:10
- Brightness: 450 cd/m2
- Contrast: 1000:1
- Refresh rate: 16 ms grey-to-grey
- D-Sub, DVI, S-Video, Component, Composite connections
- HDCP over DVI
- Picture-in-Picture, Picture-by-Picture
- 4 ports USB hub
- 9-in-2 card reader
And this is what it looks like:

A few days ago, I noticed that Google’s front page has had a facelift. Upon futher examining this, it seems than only google.com has been updated. Localized Google front pages (like google.nl or google.be) seem to still use the old layout.
For those using a localized version of Google, this is what google.com looks like now:”

Or you could go to google.com/ncr to see it yourself (this link prevents redirecting to your localized Google version).

Today, I launched my new site, which is (again) powered by WordPress. I used this theme as a basis, and tweaked it to my needs.
Reason for using WordPress is that I pretty much lost interest in building my own CMS, at least for the time being. My interests have moved to other things.
Reason for using an existing theme to base the layout on is mainly MSIE. I got sick and tired of designing layouts that would end up working half or not at all in that browser. And until MSIE 7 (wich has at least some standards compliance) gets mainstream and MSIE 6 is no longer popular, I don’t think I’ll change my mind about that.
Happy browsing.
